Course Description: Earth/Space Science is a laboratory science course covering topics in earth and space science. Units of study include motion, heat, and structure of matter, plate tectonics, atmosphere, natural resources, water, Earth’s spheres, and astronomy. During laboratory work the students will make claims based on their observations. There will be at least one research assignment per semester with a focus on the research process, correct citations, and academic writing. Students will also do several group projects and presentations, individual and as a group.
